Help : Problems downloading files on Winmx

Hi all,

I am having problems with my Winmx (ver 3.53). It can
connect fine (via primary connection) and searches
turn up ok but when i click to download, the files
either turns red or downloads at 1 very slow speed -
about 1KB at first then slowing decreases to 0 until
the file turns red. I have downloaded and installed
the latest PIE patch, even uninstalling and
reinstalling but nothing works.

Anyway, I have parsed the library.dat file as
recomended in the website but the ParsedLib file
created is 0B (filename = ParsedLib[07082006_165803].csv)
I opened up the library.dat file but all it shows are
a bunch of funny characters.

Please advise me if there is anything else that i
should do to get Winmx working again. By the way, I am
using WinXP Professional with Service Pack 2.

heh same isp as mine (which also identifies who u r since so few Singaporeans r about WinMX

It's simply world cup season ... Starhub (our isp) is cutting down yr bandwidth during world cup season since only for this 1 mth the demand increases 5 times for cable. Bear with it ... it will be over soon when world cup ends on 9 July 06.

Well, I'm not Diane but I'll be happy to take up on that test offer...
The problem is that my downloads (assuming they start at all) begins slow (about 1KB) then drops to 0 after transferring less than 100KB then goes red. I thought bandwidth limiting only causes the download speed to be capped - for my case, downloading stops after a while. How do I test if the ISP is limiting or blocking me ?

So far, I have only installed the PIE patch. Do I need to do anything else to get WinMX to work better ?

Oh shaddup everyone, be nice to Mango Hey Mango, u r the 3rd Singaporean I see here on WinMX! *hugs* (Never mind the gang, they r a ruthless lot here )

cool but right now Starhub (our isp) is reducing bandwidth and it will last the 1 mth period (give and take when the extra users stop their cable subscriptions on the world cup) so yr bandwidth shd get better. Reason I know is I am aware of the current situation and Diane also told me the same scenario So it is isp related. Exact symptoms r as what u say ... transfers will start very slowly and go to 0 within 1 min >>> classic symptom of isp blocking.

But come down to V44 Help room where we can test yr transfers and make sure ur settings r ok. I already tested for Diane btw

Starhub is now confirmed an isp blocker/throttler. Would advise u to change isp.

Vladd has got a new patch out and will fix u up with it and tell u the isp details as well.

What the error (No route to host) mean. I get this when downloading from a person who I am trying to communicate with. He can download from me. He says his port setting on wire-wall, router and mx are correct. I have been trying to help him with this problem.
