Help Please!! Video won't Play !!

Postby wildtig2013 on Tue May 16, 2006 11:22 am

I cannot get a 536 MB Mpeg video file to play.

I tried Windows Media Player 10.0: it doesn't recognize it.

I tried Windows Media Player Classic: it cannot render file.

I tried MPlayer and I get the following error message:

Usually anything that Windows Media Player won't play, I have always been able to play successfully using WMPC or MPlayer.

This is the VERY FIRST TIME this has happened!!

The File is Complete, can anyone help please, THANKS!!

get gspot see what codec it says you need to play the file..and it will let you know if you have the codec needed or not.
Jewish Kid: Is anyone else having problems concentrating on this? I just can't seem to concentrate.
Cartman: Maybe we should send you to a concentration camp.

Thanks Vladd44;

These are my results:

I even downloaded VLC player and it said playing 0.00 of 0.00 which tells me this MPG is broken.

I wonder if the person who I got this file from knows it doesn't work and why WinMX said the DL was complete.

Guess I will have to find it again but so far, the person who had this file was the only one I seen who had it.

What GSpot is telling you is you got a shit-load o' nothin'. No audio OR video content. Changing extension wouldn't help as GSpot reads through wrong extensions. :ky

I believe that's an old version of GSpot which may not even recognize mpegs, I don't remember from which version GSpot actually did start to recognize and give info on mpegs, it only recognized avis in older versions. You should try a later version just to make sure it simply isn't a codec problem:

Then again, there's no lack of fake files on winmx.

Give this URL a try http://www.fakefiles.tk/
See if your file is listed as a fake file.
