Just a quick question, what kind of information is stored in a .wma file about your machine?

Nothing to worry about. Just soem basic, non-invasive information such as:
-Software used to create the WMA
-Windows version
-Socail Security number
-Mother's maiden name
-penis size, in millimeters
-hair color
-number of hairs on your back or around nipples, whichever is greater
-Date when you last had sex with a member of your same species, but of the opposite sex
-whether you fall asleep or get excited lying in bed at night counting sheep
-how many times you masturbate per week
-how frequently the branches on your family tree turn back on themselves
-if your knuckles drag on the ground when you walk

I hope this naswered your questions! :)

I sometimes compress mp3s to wma (they use 50% less space than mp3s in yr mp3 player and so u can store double the number of songs originally :)

Like most ppl, I don't really hear a big drop in quality between an mp3 say of 5 MB and a compressed 2.5MB of the same song compressed in wma format.

It's useful in my opinion :)

lol ... Ninko is a female like me, bob, so most of those questions won't be relevant :) but it is nice to see what u r obsessed with :P

A very important one here:
-number of hairs on your back or around nipples, whichever is greater

Have you ever tried encoding MP3s as VBR (variable bit rate) instead of the more common CBR (constant bitrate) versions? This will usually cause a similar size reduction with no loss of quality.
I don't use WMAs very often, but by my understanding they achieve most of their savings due to also being VBR.

U know what they say of Chinese ladies with silky smooth skin and that hairless look on their bodies? :) I have long black hair 2 feet down to my waist tho :)

I won't go to that extent of encoding mp3s .. merely a conversion to wma sometimes but I don't usually do that often now that I use a 4 MB HDD * mp3 player :)

So you're saying that the operations were successful?

have long black hair 2 feet down to my waist tho

Yes, but the important question still remains: Where does that hair originate?

I use a 4 MB HDD * mp3 player

What do you listen to after the four minutes (or so) are up?
I have one you're welcome to that would be a good upgrade, if you're willing to pay for shipping. It's a nice old full-height SCSI 630 MB HD- sounds like a jet engine when it spins up. Might cost a bit to ship, it's around 12 pounds.

(wiseass mode disengaged)
I won't go to that extent of encoding mp3s .

I don't know if it would be any extra actual work on your part to encode them as VBR compared to converting them to WMA files. What it really comes down to is whichever method you prefer, and a VBR MP3 is a viable alternative to WMA. Both have their benefits, however to the best of my knowledge neither format is supported by all portable players.

LOL I am so sorry I spoke to u b4 Ninko in V44 room and thought u were a female :) my bad :)

My mp3 player is like a thumbdrive / mp3 player ... 4MB of space is equivalent to actually 1000 mp3s :) way way longer than simply 4 mins of playtime :) Plus added advantage to transport files here and there from my systems at home to work and vice versa :) It's convenient :)

I think if you check the specs on it again you'll find that it's actually 4GB of storage... :)

4MB of space is equivalent to actually 1000 mp3s

Well, maybe if they're each about 1/4 of a second long..... :) :)

If you share a file you made using windows media formats you are making the simplest way to track the fact that you are the one who placed it on the network, as it contains a unique identifying code that is specific to your machine and this number is automatically given to microsoft when you allow your media player to check for updates.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/window ... m/faq.aspx

The most important advice is not to use or share this format.

I think you need to go back to the first post and do some more editing. It seems there are spelling errors. :D

But the first post, i thought to be, is instructions and shouldn't have typos. Although WinMX is typoville for some ppl. Me included. lol. I would think that there should not be typos in instructions.

Newsflash! The flooders have gotten around the -user trick by sharing from "Desktop" so now useing -desktop is necessary. :mack

There is currently no reliable work around to remove fakes from searches other than to install KM ware, or ensure ALL primary Pie users are blocking 100% of the bad Ip's and as the first option isnt appealing to many and the second option is less than likely from Pie, im afraid there is little hope of removing fakes from searches.

Actually, doing exactly what I do works just fine. Whenever obviously fakers/flooders appear in a search do a "Show full path" and find the common factor. Restart search useing -common factor and that will do the trick (til next time common factor changes .. they learn quickly for a buncha tards).

lol that was my point really, as fast as these little work arounds are found, they will shut the door, dont forget, they can read the forums just as users can. The only sure way to remove the flooded results is to block them from the network.

Newbie here (don't you just love it when somebody mentions that?)...

I've come across some MP3s in searches whose file sizes were the usual five to ten megabytes, but the play length of these files were like seventy to eighty minutes! Are these fakes too?

To avoid fakes in yr searches, simply search like this :

-c: artistename songname
-user

Simply input the 1st line *-c: artistename songname* into the top line of Search and input *-user* into the 2nd line of Search and click Audio and click Search.

An eg of searching a song called My Immortal by the artiste Evanescence would be searched this way :

-c: Evanescence My Immortal
-user

<<< when u search that way all yr searches will download.

the - minuses the fake results in the c drives and user folders that RIAA love to flood fakes in so that is why the above format works.

If u r looking for a movie, search this way :

-c: moviename
-user

(don't forget to select video b4 clicking on Search)

Eg: if searching for Transformers, search like this :

-c: Transformers
-user

Any problems, just come down to Vladd44 Help Room here where we can help u http://www.vladd44.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=6514:
