Has anyone here ever used Pando

Postby April on Wed Apr 23, 2008 10:50 pm

I am on a trading list that sends out a lot of .pando files and I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with Pando.

I am just looking for some honest opinions from experienced users, the good, bad & ugly on it that they won't tell you on their site.

I am a bit hesitant to embrace the idea, being that they seem to be a bit too friendly with the ISP's and media companies.

Am I being overly paranoid? Or should I dive in and take advantage of all the goodies and grab them while I can?

The same could be said about Azureus slowing down your pc, but I never had problems with it (I got a hell fast pc with plenty of ram). And any torrent client can suck up all your bandwidth and slow your connection down (regulating your transfer speed can fix that).

From what I understand, Pando is like a cross between torrents and something like Rapidshare...only without the stupid cats...and with multisource downloading with at least one guaranteed seed (the pando server).

Most of the info I have been able to come across only identify finding .pando files being the big problem, which I wouldn't have, considering I am getting about 40-60 of them a day in my email from the list. And they are not coming from spanish forums, which is the major source of publicly available .pando files.

My concern is people getting nailed by the **AA's for shit by sharing/downloading on Pando. How much of a concern is it really? Has anyone been nailed that you know about?
