Green CPU Information??

Postby Jimmi_James on Sun May 14, 2006 1:34 pm

I'm fairly new to using bittorrent and have downloaded music and video already. The problem is that whenever I play a video that I have downloaded using Bittorrent I get green information about the CPU usage and inputs and outpus in the top left hand corner of the screen continuously throughout the movie.

Can anyone tell me what this is and how I can remove it (if this is possible)?

Thanks

That is going to be the settings of whatever player you're using to view the movies with, you need to look in Preferences or Settings or Options or whatever in the player and turn off the On Screen Display or alter it.

Thanks for a quick reply. I normally use Windows Media Player 10 but I find that this information appears whichever media player I use including Windows Media Centre and Realplayer. It also copies onto DVD when I burn them. I looked for obvious options in Windows Media Player to get rid of this information but couldn't see anything.

Perhaps some direct show filter like ffdshow is decoding (playing back) your movie instead of the proper codec. That's the only thing I can think of. Direct show filters also have settings options.

Thanks so much for that information. It worked. I remembered that I do have that ffdshow codec pack installed and went into the options. Problem solved, cheers!

One of my signatures on some forum (don't remember which) used to be "say no to ffdshow" ;)
