dowloaded a game and not sure how to make it run...i know i have to do something to it but not sure and can't understand a lot of the FAQ pages i found. Any ideas????

psychic friends network we're not lol (if only I could read minds.....) :shock:

what file extention does the file have? is it a rar, zip, bin/cue, iso, ace, nrg etc etc etc ?

kinda dumb one on my part sorry lol. the two different file types are .001, .002 etc and .sfv.

try extracting the first one (001) and see if you dont wind up with a bin and cue. If that works burn to CD (go here if you dont know how. Info is for nero) and then install.

The sfv is a checksum file to compare with the orginal checksum file (good for when you want to make sure data wasn't altered during transmission or storage)

get winrar to 'view' those .001, .002 etc files. somewhere should be a master named.... file.rar instead of file.001, but using winrar to view the 001 file will work also, then extract the data to your harddrive as B said. Go from there with the results, omre than likely are bin/cue files.

I think vladd probably has some details on 'how-to' with both rar and bin/cue files on his web page, but damn - i am too lazy to search it out for a link post :)
