Just thinking that if the riaa is TRYING to shut down winmx then shouldnt they shut down msn and windows messenger because you can share files through it cant you or am i just trying too hard to be on mx's side so it doesnt go down am i right or wrong

i just talked to Sabre (as in SabMX) and he's working on writing a peer cache server as i am writing this. Soon he will release a copy of SabMX that will work just fine and just like winmx did, but it will use a different peer cache. As soon as he does, we will be back in "business".

Only problem will be distribution. It won't have nearly as many people as winmx had because most of winmx's users have never stepped into a chat and would have no way of knowing there is a fix or where to get it.

good news will be the riaa won't have a copy for awhile so the fakes will all be gone

keep in mind this will be a temp solution till something permanent can be worked out as nobody wants sabre to end up in a legal mess either.

If he needs help with hosting of the peer cache, he will be in touch ...i told him plenty of people willing to help him out if he needs it can be found here and i hear he's currently parked in vladd's room

so all hope is NOT lost

I am so happy to read it's not completly dead, just more work.
side note, I started DLing anti Bush info vids and found most would not dl, as if the files were blocked from transfering, even though hundreds of people had them.

We have been all waiting for such great news , we wouldn't let ourselves believe mx was gonna be gone for good if anything this has brought more rooms together and working together to make sure we all have the same update every1 will be very to happy to hear the latest news . Well guys.... I personally think King Macro is right.... Winmx is going to be gone forever.. and there will be no chance or way we can save it. It makes me sad, i been using winmx for 6 yrs now. I met a lot of cool ppl...And i got a lot of Help on my comp from Vladd44.. I just hope April is right, that winmx is just changing locations! So i have one last thing to say ... That i thank the creators of Winmx and the owner of Winmx..Without them honestly i would have had a boring life... So thanks winmx for everything

Someone needs to host a DNS server for us to plug into WinMX (important it is plugged into WinMX directly, since changing your regular system DNS settings could keep you off the Internet or open you up to all sorts of banking scams, etc).

Oh, need a copy of the peer cache software...guess thats three things or is that part of number one?

How do you mean? I am learning how mx works for the first time since always taking it for granted that it did always work.

Websites do not all need there own indervidual dedicated DNS servers do they, so why would WinMX?
