followed the steps but still can't connect

Am running vista and trying to get winMX to connect. Followed the steps given on http://www.vladd44.com/mx/piepatch.php under "To install the Pie Auto Updater for winmxgroup or winmxworld patch users:" During the installation process, winmX can't find the internet connection so the only way to finish set up is to go via manual set up. On restarting winMX after manually updating Pie Auto Updater, just the yellow light flashing - no green.

Used to use winMX on another PC running XP, and miss it. Any help greatly appreciated.

You could try a manual install

Steps:

1) Browse to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories
2) Right click "Notepad" and select "Run as administrator"
3) Click "Continue" on the UAC prompt
4) Click File -> Open
5) Browse to "C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc"
6) Change the file filter drop down box from "Text Documents (*.txt)" to "All Files (*.*)"
7) Select "hosts" and click "Open"
Update the contents of hosts file with the contents located at http://blocktards.com/updates/hosts
9) Save and close notepad.
