First Katrina then Winmx..now Torrents..help I need to split

Postby Fugeeee on Thu Sep 29, 2005 12:34 am

I'm new to the torrent scene, its seems easy enough but I cant find away to split the downloaded files that are too large to fit on a single disk... does anyone know how or where to find a free or cheap way to split these files???

Which filetype/s are you referring to? There are video splitters/joiners and virtualdub/mod splits and does many other oprtations with video. There are also other splitters like hjjoin/split. Winrar can split with or without compression. There are a lot of choices that will depend on filetype, media size, and personal preferance.

Thanks for the leads Magwy... I am trying to split avi and mpeg files.. they are about 1GB so splitting them in half would work just fine for me..

A good place for answers is videohelp. There are also several video splitters you can find on your favorite P2P. The 800 MB .mpgs will fit on one cd, if you burn them as svcd or vcd disks.
