firewall and router

ok i've been having really slow downloads on bittorrent and i have high speed cable. I did the port forwarding thing for netgear, and opened up the tcp ports in zap, but the connection still is really slow. does anyone know what i can do u make the download rate faster?

have u tried a firewall other than za?

and.....have u given it time? its not uncommon for bt dls to start off a bit slow, but give them a little time,.

no, is there a firewall that doesnt interfere with downloading as much? alson i uninstalled za and waited for about a hour and a half and the speed is staying around 20kbs to 30 kbs, i hope that's not the fastest i can get it.
