File Error> (5) "Access to......

File error 5 is basically saying that WinMX can't find the directory that the file is stored in (Incoming Files Folder)...have you moved folders around recently?? that should be the problem

I have several files that were not completely downloadedtherefore were put in my shared folder as INCOMPLETE. When I was ready to resume the download, I did another search trying to find the exact file, I was sucessful. The file came up as matching my previous file, and when I clicked on it WIN MX asked me if I wanted to resume a previously started download, I said YES.

So now it's in my transfers it goes through the normal ques but then when it's my turn to download it errors turns read and says File Error> (5) "Access to C:\\ (Shared File).

What would be causing this to happen?

i have this problem sometimes too. it happens even if you've never moved a file. i've tried all sorts of things (scandisk included) but have never gotten a file to resume downloading once i get this error message.

i think it's caused by one of two things.

1. when winmx crashes hard

2. when you try to view an incomplete movie file. ever notice that wmplayer 9 (and sometimes doesn't let a file go? i.e., if you view a movie, then view another movie, and try to delete the first movie, you can't, unless you close wmplayer. i think something like this might cause the file error 5.
