Feature transfer error? Help please!

Postby NeutronHInc on Wed Apr 19, 2006 4:52 pm

Okay, I've downloaded the two .iso files for Dance eJay 7(from uTorrent + this site {If posting links to files is wrong, I'll remove it. Just thought it would help if anyone needs to do research into this problem}), burned them to separate discs using Alcohol 120% and checked the discs. All the files appeared to be there. The following is a list of the files on each disc...

CD 1
CRACK (file folder) - Dance eJay 7 (Application) - 2,332KB
Autorun (Setup Information) - 1KB
Dance7 (Icon) - 10KB
data1 (Cabinet File) - 35,627KB
data1.hdr (HDR File) - 586KB
data2 (Cabinet File) - 628,528KB
engine32 (Cabinet File) - 460KB
layout (BIN File) - 1KB
setup (Application) - 116KB
setup (Configuration Settings) - 1KB
setup.ibt (IBT File) - 454KB

CD2
00000001.TMP (TMP File) - 2KB
00000002.TMP (TMP File) - 310KB
Autorun (Setup Information) - 1KB
Dance7 (Icon) - 10KB
DanceEJay7 (Application) - 3,965KB
data3 (Cabinet File) - 406,246KB
DrvMgt.dll (Application Extension) - 41KB
SECDRV (System File) - 160KB

Okay, now when the autorun starts, it brings up the Installation no problem. However, when it gets to the line C:\eJay\Dance eJay 7\Sound Clips\lead loops\Finder.scl it gives me the following error...

Feature transfer error
Feature: Dance eJay 7
Component: Files8
File: E:\data2.cab
Error: The request could not be preformed because of an I/O device error.

If anyone knows what is going wrong, please reply with methods to fix this problem.
Thanks in advance,
NHI

Are you tryin to install this from a virtual drive? If so is it Vortual Drive? If it is what version of VD? Is it Virtual Clone Drive? what version there? If I'm not mistaken I/O a cdrom thing. Most likely I would say is the CD2 file is corrupted and that particular data in that file is unreadable or written in a manner that your drive or virtual drive as it may be doesn't know how to read it. There are programs you can run on that file to check that the data is all ok and readable on it but I guess it depends on if it's worth your time for all the trouble or should you just decide to redownload the files from a completely different source. Good luck.
