Error Negotiating 314

Hi all

I posted a request for help in Vladd44_652231461A22 about 3 hours ago but with no response, so I guess its nightime where they are right now.

This is what I asked.....

10:16 <MHM  Ðebaser  Q3=IGN  666> Been having some trouble with winmx for the last couple of weeks. It seems that I keep getting ERROR NEGOTIATING 314 whenever I try to download.
10:17 <MHM  Ðebaser  Q3=IGN  666> I thought it might be something serious, but as it turns out I do manage to download from something like 1 in 10 of the users of a nap room I use.
10:19 <MHM  Ðebaser  Q3=IGN  666> XP firewall off. Upgraded to SP3 recently (I was assured that wouldnt be a problem). Have been halped with changing ports (whatever the hell that was all about), but it didnt work anyway.
10:20 <MHM  Ðebaser  Q3=IGN  666> Im back and forth from my computer today so hopefully at some point someone can advise me. Cheers

Hey Debaser

The error is a little bit of a Winmxing mystery, i'm not aware of a 100% solution, it does seem to happen more to some users that others. Try using the trim option, take 20k off the file and then manually restart the DL see if that helps. You can also try finding alternative sources for the file.

It took most of yesterday, but with of plenty of help from someone called SB LADY,
The solution was found.

I started running Threatfire antivirus not so long ago, and as good as it is (it found some shit on my PC that AVG missed), it conflicts with WinMX.

Problem solved
