Help for users with WinMX related problems.

Downloaded files skipping

I'm having a real problem...I am new to WinMX, but I didn't think it would b soooo complicated!!! When I download a song, and play it, the track keeps skipping. All my files are like that! Am I retarded?!!?!?!

Any help would be appreciated!!! I just wanna listen to some music!!! :x

are all mp3s skipping or just ones u got from mx?

and what media player are you playing them in?

all of them.....i originally got some from bear share. my sister said they were good, but all the files skipped so my friend told me about winmx cuz he's never had any probs....i tried to play them on the windows media player....and i also tried just right clicking and hitting play...either way....skip city!!!

i'm so very frustrated! am i doing something wrong???

its either a problem with your audio codecs

or

your media player.

i'm having the same problem with my files . i tried audio codecs and i tried 3 other players. so now what do i do?

Then you need to rule out the source, perhaps you DLed bad files, why not visit a winmx chat room you know and trust, and DL an mp3 thats known to be fine directly from a user there, see if thats ok.

As has been mentioned in another thread, Riaa supported agencies have been spreading non complete, looping and white noise files, you may have gotten something similar.

Either to try a walk through of http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... US;q307918

A system restore to a date where the problem did not occur.

You could also load ubuntu off the cd (the os will boot off the cd rather than install) and see how sound works in it.

Also Do either of you have another computer you can copy these mp3s to and see if they play right?
