1 download no uploads on my winmx

hi folks: have the same problem as henri5 of yesterday only slightly different
here goes: i've got a green light for online i get TONS of results for searches in downloads but no startups and its been like this going on 2 weeks, also no uploads - my window reads:click for web help: LIVE HELP AT VLADD44 HELP ROOM 7A090E74411C i failed to mention that i might get one startup which discontinues whenever it wants to--i've hesitated coming here because of all of the drama going on between this and the other WINMX group-- i used ares for 2-3 days and got disgusted with its movie demo fake file porn proliferated bs and the same with shameless limewire and their attempst at selling its PRO version while allowing multiple uploads from me and useless downloads from them--so i've been with winmx since napster folded-like immediately since and i'm not a chat room person but i do share a lot, care a lot go to a hell of a lot of movies, and buy my share of cd's not online, never online and i'm here to get help getting connected again on winmx OH i NEGLECTed TO MENTION SOME blocklist and stuff i hooked up to pg 2 which worked for like a half a day --so people -- how is it done this time?

Windows XP?

your issue sounds to me like something is blocking you, do you have a router? have you forwarded your winmx ports?

You mentioned PG2, are you still using it? If so, i would suggest you remove it, it may in itself be blocking other users from connecting and you to them (bluetack tend to add IP's and never remove them, meaning thousands and thousands of innocent users get blocked)

Ensure you are using the patch found on this site, or www.mxpie.com

Secondary winxp sp2--on an lan with my sis and niece who has a wireless router---and like henre5, i'm clueless to portforwarding, i went to their site--tried to follow their instructions and ended up getting forwarded to the pay section of portforward.com---needless 2 say i was broke and confused @ the time
i still have pg2 on my system, every now and then i delete it and end up re-installing it out of frustration or habit butt at the moment i'm using blocktards and/or the pie autoupdater from this site and i've done everything from the dns flush @ ip config to dl the Italians host files WHICH I'VE SINCE REMOVED and i've gone from primary to secondary and back and forth and WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED @ WINMX THAT CAUSED ALL OF THIS ALL OF A SUDDEN CRAP around 2 weeks ago ???

k some checks needed :

Answer all these ?s (don't miss any) : They help me to diagnose what u did wrong or right. U could be using up to 3 patches all at one time in yr comp and not know it... some r not removed. So this is how we troubleshoot to make sure u r pure.

1) what is the sentence u see on the left of yr Ignored button at the top of yr winmx (the Ignored button is the one with the red circle on it?) <<< u have answered :

Pls confirm that is still the message that says there. If u still see that, u r good.

2) What do u see when u go to this site? : http://www.winmx.com

If u have installed Pie Auto Updater correctly u shd see 1 sentence on a blue background... pls paste it here.

3) Where did u download yr winmx from?

4) Go to Start > Control Panel > Add and Remove Programs : if u see a Peer Guardian 2.0 there, pls uninstall and remove it.

Then u r clean.

Answer all that... the solution to yr problem is to set TCP=unabled and UDP=unabled and restart yr winmx as a 2ndary... if u can get a channel list... test ur transfers. U shd be able to download and upload then.

Also search this way to avoid fakes in yr searches :

To avoid fakes in yr searches, simply search like this :

-c: artistename songname
-user

Simply input the 1st line -c: artistename songname into the top line of Search and input -user into the 2nd line of Search and click Audio and click Search. (Only substitute the songname and artistename).

An eg of searching a song called My Immortal by the artiste Evanescence would be searched this way :

-c: Evanescence My Immortal
-user

<<< when u search that way all yr searches will download.

the - minuses the fake results in the c drives and user folders that RIAA love to flood fakes in so that is why the above format works.

If u r looking for a movie, search this way :

-c: moviename
-user

(don't forget to select video b4 clicking on Search)

Eg: if searching for Transformers, search like this :

-c: Transformers
-user

4.JUST removed pg2 from pc and i'm gonna miss it--it's been with me since the beginning--BUT i you guys/gals say the spys are gonna use it against us i'm going to trust your collective wisdom on this issue

AND AFTER CHECKING OUT LAST NIGHTS( boston time) forum i did the TCP/UDP thing with no results --until i woke up this morning and noticed 2dls and 3upls albeit very slow--unstable and intermittent---in fact, the mix keeps disconnecting, as if i'm constantly losing a signal or something--so i switched to the local WIFI in our area and got the same results--basically nothing dls completely and my connect stops and starts ALSO i've been using the -c: artist and -c user as suggested and it looks as if i'm getting fewer fakes BUT WINMX DOESN'T FINISH WHAT IT STARTS and thats not the winmx i know and love--you feel me oh and thx 4 getting back to me

k good lorryhalf it means yr pie auto updater is correctly installed.

If u can upload and download... u don't have a downloading and uploading problem anymore. If u have one, no downloads or uploads will start in the 1st place (as in blocked ports).

Yr speed is determined by yr isp and how much they decide to cap u.

Do u get any channel list on TCP=unabled and UDP=unabled on 2ndary? If u do, u can upload and download with np. If u don't get any channel list on that setting... just disconnect yr winmx, wait 8mins and connect yr winmx again under the same setting. Then u can download and upload again with np.

Hi - I am posting this because I cannot get my winmx uploads working no matter what I try. Everyone gets “Timed out (Waiting for incoming connection…)”. I am completely willing to try anything again if a knowledgeable poster is willing to try.
Some facts:
I can D/L with Primary & secondary connections.
I can D/L from peer and opennap.
Neither peer nor opennap can D/L from me.
I have set and reset ports in winmx and in my router port forwarding to no avail.
I am 99.99% sure it is router related though. When I dir a direct connect from my cable modem to the computer, my uploads worked.
Utatane works fine.
Using winmx 3.54 beta 4.
Router is Linksys WRT54G
