divx to vcd

divx to vcd

I'm trying to convert a divx50 to vcd. When i use the file info features of G-SPOT or virtualdub there is not ANY audio info. ???????????????? What is wrong??????? THANKUM

You didn't mention what software you were using to do the conversion from avi to vcd - but I would guess that your file was either vbr audio or ac3 audio, and you should decompress the audio before encoding and use the pcm-wav file. i can,t even get the video file to play on my pc! DX50 files are giving me a hard time. i,ve got 107 different codecs on my pc but my videos are dx50's and they do not play! THIS SUCKS!

The divx 5.1.1 codec should play dx50 files. What you can also do is download AviC (4CC changer) from the Tools section at
http://www.rita.lt/

When you have the app, open it, browse to your file (load it), then select DivX for both the FourCC Description Code and the FourCC Used Codec and then click Apply. See if your player will play the files after that.
