dial-up bittorrent

hey all cool site

anybody have any advice on using bittorrent with a 56K? used to be on cable but now im on dial up and my dl wont go above 2kbs - usually 0. just wondering if theres any tweeks of experimental clients that work better with 56k

dont know if it's possible to tweak a 56K connection but a newer client http://azureus.sourceforge.net/ seems to work better for me - it's java based and has more than enough bells and whistles compared to the older BT clients ...

There is a programme called Netlimiter that will allow you to throttle your upload speed efectively. If your upload is maxed out, your download will really lag.

Its also dependant on how may seeds/peers you are connected to. If there arent many, then you wont get a lightning fast download.

i used some dial ups a couple time, free or free for couple months. What i found was that on those connections - i could get nothing faster than 2k. Pathetic, yet they say you cant complain about free. (well i could, but hey)

Made me not want to buy their service at that level.
