COUPLE~o~QUESTIONS

Postby i_share on Sun Sep 07, 2003 12:19 pm

some mp3's sound great, some sound like SHIT! ... i've heard some 128's that seem to sound as good, or better than a 320!
... i try and stick with 192 or higher, but there seems to be alot of crappy_encoded shit out there!

before i encode, i would like to know, what's the best encodeing/editing software out there???
also, what's the best albumwrap extractor software?

just trying to do my part by only shareing high_quality_mp3's

I use dbPowerAmp and Alba for encoding and unwrapping, respectively.
WinMX HASH Database - beware popups! Updated 06th October.

Some Audio and Software HASHes added.

The program you use to rip from CDDA to WAV doesn't matter quite as much as the program or plug-in you use to encode WAV to MP3.

Lame 3.90.3 is the best program for MP3 encoding. It's a windows commandline program, which looks like a DOS program, and you should be able to set it up in a ripper program like AudioGrabber or Exact Audio Copy to encode each track when the ripper finishes ripping it to the hard drive. Alternatively, you could use it with a utility such as RazorLame, to batch-encode your WAV's to MP3's.
