Corrupt .mpg file

Hi all, I have just finnished downloading a mpg file and it is telling me it is corrupt. Is there anyway I can rebuild it like an avi file?
Anyone help?

Are you sure you have a real mpg? i mean have you viewed any of it or stripped it with tmpge to make sure its even a movie and not just some fake ....if so let me know
