Cops Drawing Blood for DWI

Postby Vladd44 on Thu Sep 17, 2009 9:29 am

Story

Now I must confess to being pretty intolerant of people driving drunk.

I think the penalty for drunk driving should be the same as manslaughter. Unfortunately since legislators, judges and cops are often caught driving drunk there is natural resistance to upping the penalties any further.

But at the same time, the idea of pigs forcing someone to give up a blood sample at the scene is just a bit unsettling.

I personally do not believe in the ability to force someone to give up their DNA without a pretty clear cause. That is a decision that should be decided in a courtroom with due process not on the side of the road.

If I were to find myself in that situation, I believe I would claim I had AIDS and would make sure I got some on the officer, preferably in his mouth. At least it would be a scary event for a short time for him/her.

I would also show them a picture of nobby and tell them that I had sex with this cross dresser. That should keep them worried for at least another month.

:D:D:D

Oh come now Vladd.
You think anyone driving drunk should be automatically charged with manslaughter?
What if they happen to drive better drunk than the vast majority of drivers who still don't know how to drive even though they are sober but just plain stupid?
Hell, I used to drink and drive all the time in Texas back when it was legal. Then I started driving on long trips of 210 miles round trip every weekend to New Mexico to do gold prospecting and then do the bar till closing time after dark, then drive all the way back home at 2am in the morning without taking so much as a nap, even though in New Mexico it was a draconian sin to drive under the influence of one-trillionth of one picogram of alchohol then like the other states are now. Drive the way your supposed to drive and the cops ignore you anyway.

How many people did I kill? ever? Zero.
How many 'accidents' (major/minor/or a even just a fender bender) have I had over the past 30 years i've been driving including but not limited to while on a good buzz? Zero.
I must confess though I did get one speeding ticket once. I was sober then, and people were in my way dawdling along like cattle to the slaughterhouse so I went around them. Days of the stupid 55 mph limit. I normally tend toward 75 mph myself. lol
BTW my insurance premiums are quit comfortably low as well, since I do know how to drive under any conditions, drunk or sober, rain, snow, or sunshine. Being drunk is no excuse to drive like a retard. I think people who can't figure out how to drive should be charged with manslaughter. It doesn't matter if they can't pay attention to their driving because of booze, the cellphone, screaming kids, having sex, reading a newspaper, eating tacos, doing their hair and fingernails or are just simply too stupid to be allowed out of their homes without a keeper. Drinking doesn't automatically mean a lousy driver.
Oh and the drawning blood thing should be considered 'assault'. Especially in Texas where assault means justification to use 'deadly force' to defend yourself, others, or just your property. It seems Texas is begining to morph into California junior lately. Next thing they will prolly do is start banning guns. Except, of course, to the poor and disadvantaged gang members who are not responsible for their own situation and thus above any laws. :fro

One would have to be a fool to think that drinking does not affect ones driving.

I am sure there are people who believe that they can text and drive just fine as well. And I have a very big f**k you too for them as well.

I think that anyone that thinks there is no problem drinking and driving needs a good kick in the ass. Whether they think their driving is fine, or they do not get caught or not, they are needlessly endangering people.

I have seen the result of drunk driving to many times to ignore the dangers. Just because you had not managed to do something to kill someone while driving drunk yet is no reason to continue or a rationalization that you are a capable driver while drunk.

I will not lie and say that as a teen I was not guilty of the same, but I grew up.

And yes, I do think that if you drive drunk the penalty should be extreme. It is avoidable and shows extreme inconsideration to the risks it poses to other people.

Unless you are trying to say that drinking does not affect reaction times or impair judgment it is a weak rationalization to simply blow it off because other idiots are to stupid not to text, put on makeup or read a newspaper.

I am no fan of cell phone use, texting or a whole range of other activities while driving either. And I have no problem with extreme penalties for those activities as well.

Doing any of those activities while driving IMO shows that one is not mature or smart enough to drive in the first place.

So what will they do when they come across someone like me?

Highly experienced, well trained medical personnel have a hard time getting blood out of me. I almost couldn't get married because the doctor had so much trouble getting enough blood from me for the required blood test. I left his office looking like a pin cushion and all he got was 1/4 of a tube. Luckily that was enough.

Unless the cops are well trained and plan on carrying around pediatric syringes, they wouldn't get a drop.

And in NJ, they extended the DWI laws and amended the meaning from "driving while intoxicated" to "driving while impaired" and sleepy driving carries the same penalty as driving while drunk. They don't care why you are impaired, alcohol, weed, lack of sleep, food poisoning, whatever. If you are incapable of driving they will nail you for it and they don't need to find any chemicals in you to do it.
