Converting vob or iso to mpg with Nero

I can't figure out how to do it. I have Nero 6.6 and Nero Express, and I want to pull files off DVDs to edit on my computer. I can get the files off in either vob or iso format (I know how to do that much), but I can't figure out how to then make them mpgs so I can go and edit them with other software.

Be specific in your instructions. I'm not a techie.
