Connection problems during the day.

I have been using win mx for a few years now, recently i am having problems connecting from mid afternoon until 11 or 12 O clock at night.
I would be very great full of any suggestions what the problem may be.

I am trying to paste into the black box to the left of ignored (MXPIE.info v3.6) in left hand side of box. is this correct? if so i cant paste into the box!

There is nothing on my win mx that says filter, i cannot paste anywhere on the page?

Click WinMX Peer Network button on yr WinMX.

U will see a space on the right of the Filter button.

Copy and paste this room name on it : Vladd44 Help Room_A7FED4DA411C

Click on Join.

Then u will enter the room. I am there already as Kayleigh. Cya soon.

clicked winmx peer network button but nothing happens and not sure about the filter button as i don't have a button that says filter???? anyway just had to restart PC and for some reason winmx has connected so i will see how it goes.

stuart-telford, on the main WinMX window (where it shows transfers up & down) clik on the Chat button (between Shared Files and Search buttons ... clik "Enter" and then you will see the WinMX Peer Network button that Love is talking about .. then after you clik on it you will see the Filter button ... :shock:

np, btw for those who see this : MXPIE.info v3.6 on the left of the their Ignored button at the top of their winmx....

Remember to do this pls :

Download (Pie Auto Updater) from here:
http://www.vladd44.com/files/PieAutoUpdater.exe

Click on (Run)

After installation.. You will see 2 icons on yr sys tray : Pie Auto Updater icon and PeerGuardian Lite icon

Right click on: Pie Auto Updater icon then click on *Manual Update Now*

MXPIE version 3.6 is NOT an official Pie Team release and it is a patch released by a rogue site. Pls look at http://www.mxpie.org to see the official sites for Vladd's patch Pie Auto Updater.

Thanks Canada Joe, it all makes perfect sense now, feel a bit stupid for not realizing i needed to be on the chat page.

Winmx seems to be running OK again at the mo so will see what happens tomorrow.

I have downloaded the pie auto updater and now have the two icons in the sys tray and done a manual update, do i need to do anything else as i still have mxpie version 3.6.

Right Click the pie icon (in the system tray bottom right of your screen) and select Manual Update.

Still having problems staying connected from late afternoon until around midnight . Have tried entering help chat room but nothing is happening?

more than likely
you are on cable witch is shared bandwidth with the whole city so your mx is going to get slow as hell or be almost non existant during peak usage hours. and same can go for a dsl server the sockets become full and they are disconnected after every so many secionds to allow another connection request to go through from some one else. most isps keep buissnesses in mind and will allow priority for ftp and smtp ports. port 21 and 25. if you do not run either of these swithing to a primary and using those ports (after forewarding them in your modem , router , and firewall ofc) could allow easier connection during peak usage hours.
