cant you turn off system restore? or am i showing my ignorance? (would be first time) LMAO
Canadian? Sign the petition. Let Ottawa know you want to be considered and that you don't want your rights to be abraded every time the music industry's profits slip a little.

seems the partition for the recovery is fat32 and the rest is ntfs so you just about have to use partition magic to wipe it , convert to logical then to ntfs. have tried it twice and crashed my computer twice so i'm giving up and will wait till i can afford two new harddrives since this model is set up for two. thanks for the help anyway. as always peace (by the way anyone who buys a HP is nuts this one is only a year old and been sent back to HP 9 times for various problems and none taken care of.)
