Compress file size

Hi....please can someone tell me how to upload a ripped dvd film i.e the vob file and reduce it down to size instead of a massive 2,775,345 blah blah blah kb file... i have loads to share but im too dumb to know how to compress or reduce the file size. Thanks.

VirtualDub should be what you need. Make sure you also have the applicable codecs up to date.
