should i use the mouse, keyboard or any other programs when i am burning a cd? Ive read that if my proccessors multi tasking capabilities are good this should not be a problem when i am burning. I have a pentium 4 processor and 256m of memory.

I don't see why not. I've never encountered a problem with burning cds, and I've invariably been busy multi-tasking whilst doing it. The only thing I would suggest (to be sure of a good burn) is to burn in DAO (disc at once) mode. That means the laser is not turned off between tracks during a burn session, and ensures a constant flow of data. That and buffering. Be careful though, Roxio Easy CD Creator for example, when using DAO mode automatically removes the gaps between track also. Good for gapless music, but not good if you want the gaps.

Well I've made glitches in cd's by over-multitasking, but it depends on WHAT you are actually doing... I think being on p2p, msn, etc. with that kind of specs you should be fine, but I wouldn't recommend watching a movie on your pc or listening to music on your pc while you're burning (something that uses up a lot of resources).
