Change resolution?

Postby DanHen on Tue Apr 27, 2004 6:14 pm

Hello, got one unsolvable (for em) problem:
dld movie MPEG2. This movie was 740 megs large. Right, i found VirtualMpeg2 to "re-comprimate" to some avi with "CD burn large".
Ouha! The original movie has resolution 400x400. But when I save it like divx ( i used divx5 ), I got imlicitly resolution 640x480 or any "default" and no way to change it. I searched in VDub for some setting, but fields that contains res is always grey-no change.
Help, how can I preserve original resolution?
Thnxs for ans's

Don't set the size in the divx codec configuration, In Virtual Dub go to Video, Filters - click "Add" and add the resize filter.. then type in the resolution that you want.

Note from Vladd: the reason you werent logged in is bc of the ghettorig I am currently involved in with forum. Give me a few more free days.

Thnxs for help, but it didn't help me. I Added filter, set up size of movie, It seemed everything all right. When I view my saved file, was the same shit: size of movie was different than original but no my size, but something about my size. +- few pixels. And , as original, "blank spaces" is on right and left sides of screen. Noting original file is 480x480 , mpeg2 and is able to fit in fullscreen without that fuc*ed blanks. I tryied save it various divx, but no way-there are always left/right blanks in movie.

Please help, what am I to do with it?
Thnxs for coop, bye

You need to crop it as well - you should go to http://www.rita.LT and read the guides on Virtual Dub, using filters in particular. And can I ask why you are bothering to encode an mpeg2 to avi? To save on filesize?

Also, if you are getting pixelization you probably haven't given it a high enough bitrate.

Yeah, gonna read this adress, it's new for me...
Why bothering? I mean I wrote it's large - has 750 megs and I wanna "re-comprimate" it to a smaller size.
No pixelization about, quality was good, but resolution wasn't change, a blank spaces... i wrote about it

Try to visit that adress, maybe it will help me....
