Can't Find Network Connections or Access Chat Room

Hi, guys~ Sorry to make my first post a crying-for-help one... I've made sure to freshly install MXpie and WinMX off downloads from vladd44 and I'm pretty sure that I followed directions correctly (made sure to turn off anti-virus, etc. for installation and everything), but I keep getting the yellow flashing connection status of doom! To top it off, I tried pasting "Vladd44 Help Room_7A090E74411C" in the chat field to the right of Filter and hit join, but nothing happened!

Not really sure where I went wrong here and would appreciate some assistance. By the way, to the left of the Ignored button, it says:

Okay... haha, I did some more reading and was able to sort things out on my own! (I figured out how to forward a port on my router, which was real hell because the router's all in Japanese ) but now I've got the green light!
