can't connect but don't see it in start menu or locate foldr

This is weird. Trying to install on brand new Dell laptop. Software installs as does tray icon. unable to connect. before and after reboot it is not in anywhere in windows start menu nor does the directory exist (c:/programfiles/Winmx) At no time during installation did I see where install program asked me where I wanted to install winmx. At end of installation software comes up but never connects; tray icon as well. After reboot no sign of software anywhere. I'm baffled. Got software from www.mxpie.com - same place i always use. Running XP

how bout you get it from here and sounds like you installed the patch and not winmx
get the patch from here and you can get winmx from here or from oldversion.com
