To Bow or not a bow

Postby Vladd44 on Fri May 08, 2009 12:20 pm

This isn't exactly new, but I haven't made a lot of time to post recently.

I can't imagine how anyone could claim with a straight face that this is not Obama Bowing before the Saudi King, but hey perhaps I didn't drink enough of the kook-aid.

WTF, a president bowing to royalty, what next?

I personally find it pretty damn distasteful that the US president would bow before anyone.

I don't give a f**k what mustard he uses, or which hand he uses when he wipes his ass...or even if he uses toilet paper...or his wife's mouth.

But there is established protocol on the bow, and it is for a good reason. Bowing to a Saudi king in itself is an image that I would prefer our messiah avoid.

I tend to agree. It's not like bowing to the Japanese where everyone bows to each other all the time and it's just a simple cultural symbol of respect equal to a handshake.

You did not see the Saudi king return the bow. That means it was more than that.

But it's nothing new in this country that our leaders bow to oil, now is it?
