Bearshare Trouble

Postby Guest on Mon Oct 03, 2005 1:55 am

I need some help with this problem. Everytime I try to open Bearshare, and it crashes and gives me this message.

.\ GLibraryWatchDb.cpp (#176) Fatal Error: Unable to load library database.

Does anyone know what that means, or how could I fix this problem?

you have corrupted the .db files
go to bearshare folder then db folder and delete or copy to another folder all the " LATEST " lib*.db files ONLY ( NOT THE LAST GOOD LOAD FILES OR OTHERS). reboot and all will work lol

probably not what should be done but it works. you may lose a little of some of the files but better than the lot

PS: files that no longer load and show in the console in red, go in2 your part files folder delete the .dat file and then change the .dat.bak file to .dat and restart bearshare. god knows why this isn't done automatically when a file will not start

hope this helps
also if you keep getting blue screens when searching/ browsing with bearshare and your running zonealarm uninstall it and run a registry cleaner. guarantee this will fix. i'm using kerio with no probs now.

cheers

Hey all what fezzy fez says does work, you lose all the files you were currently downloaded but you get bearshare back. Just go in your C Drive and delete the entire Bearshare folder, then download it again.

You do not need to delete the entire bearshare folder, just go into C:\BearShare\db and delete everything in that folder. Sinply Running Bearshare after doing this, will force new, clean, uncorrupted files to be written.
