vcd, svcd, and dvd are 3 different types of disk

vcd and svcd are formats that fit on a normal CD, dvd is... well, a DVD

if you burn as a VCD or SVCD then it will likely need splitting because its not the file size in the current format that matters - its the file size after its been converted to a VCD or SVCD that matters (those formats dont have very good compression compared to the common codecs used for AVI files)

You cannot make a vcd or svcd per say on a DVD, i.e. you cannot burn it AS a vcd or svcd. Hence why they're called Video CD or Super Video CD. The only way you can burn a vcd or svcd onto a dvd is as data, or convert to dvd format, and to do that I wouldn't choose to use a burning application, as you will probably need to shrink it as well. So either burn the vcd/svcd onto a cd if you want it to play on a standard stand-alone player, or else burn it as data and buy an mpeg4 (avi-compatible) standalone dvd player which will play.

KM, I wish you'd stay out of this section, you talk a bunch of nonsense.
