A lot of Cd burning software suites feature a sound editor ( Nero , Easy cd creator,win-on cd) , perhaps you could use these to cut the tracks out and paste them to generate separate tracks?
I have found other programs on WinMx that seem to do a similar job as albumwrap, (APP) TRKW Album Extractor.zip and [APP] Mp3 Splitter + Crack.zip .

When AlbumWrap Extractor doesn't work try AlbaExtractor from here. If it doesn't extract then it was probably never wrapped or has been badly corrupted. Your only alternative then is to cut (split) the file into single tracks with any one of a number of splitters. My favorite is mp3DirectCut but there are plenty more available.
This site can be invaluable for splitting/naming files http://www.allmusic.com/

There is another reason for an ALBW file not being extractable: encoding. If an mp3 file is encoded with a variable bitrate orthe individual mp3's are of a different bitrate, then the ALBW file becomes non-extractable.

This is, of course, due to the ignorance of the person creating the ALBW to begin with. There is nothing that can be done except using an mp3 splitter.

Here's one that works with winamp: http://www.mp3extractor.com/

These alone are not the causes of "unextractabily" but may contribute to the problem. I have wrapped 100's of VBR mp3's with no problem but as stated

hmmm, that's interesting, PeerGuardian blocks snapfiles.com(Level 3 Communications, Inc)...

...and also allmusic.com(Savvis & Level 3 Communications, Inc) they are both in the "P2P Block list" .

But then again, the makers of my firewall are in that list too lol (Mcafee.com split4 AP2P)

Sounds like you need to go to Methlabs.org and download PeerGuardian 2. I visit all of those sites daily and none of them are blocked. Image

ALBA pre-extraction of d/l'ing files

Postby Diddy Doo on Fri Jul 01, 2005 2:14 pm

With ALBA you can open the file once it gets to 1% to check it . If it opens, its good. If not i delete the file and save my time and bandwidth for true ALBW files. :D[/url]

True you can verify if the header (1.29Kb) is good but try waiting til you've got enough for 1 track (app. 2-3mb) then check with Albaextractor. If it shows something (probably incomplete) then the album is still extractable using Albaextractor even tho AlbumWrap Extractor can't 8)

Re: ALBW and Non ALBW

Postby skik2 on Mon Nov 23, 2009 2:09 am

I ran into something that may answer some of the cannot extract an ALBW Wrapped mp3 file. If the person that wrapped the album used the DEMO version of ALBW, it will only extract during the demo time period. To be extracted after that, the same ALBW program that was used to wrap the album must be paid for and validated. If not, the wrapped album remains a mp3 only file.

To see if this is the problem with a file, use ALBW Wrapper to try and extract it. If it was done in the demo mode, it will say so and not extract it. If you try and extract it with ALBA, ALBA does not specify that, only that it is an unknown format.

Hope this helps, Steve
