after conversion from avi to mepg the video is too fast

Hi,

i have converted the avi file to svcd and also dvd formats , after the conversion the video is too fast and the audio is not in sync.

can u pls hel me how to fix this pls

What software are you using to encode it, and is the audio out of sync throughout the entire movie or just part of it, for instance the second half?

A) The full movie audio is out of sync

B) i have used nero vision express & also Blaze Media Pro for encoding to svcd or dvd format.

C) the movie was taken on an Sony handycam and DL to harddisk in avi format through USB using pilex(image mixer) s/w

Take a look at the link below and make sure the frequency (sampling rate) of your audio file matches that of the standard for svcd or dvd respectively.
